Residential hockey camps

Our annual residential hockey camps programme takes place each summer at the University’s sports facilities and welcomes players from all over the world.

Our weeklong camps are tailored for different levels of playing experience and ability, but throughout the programme players are able to better their knowledge of the game in a safe and inclusive environment.

With recent investment in the sports facilities, combined with the variety of residential facilities available on site, the University is now positioned as one of the best venues for residential sports training camps in Scotland.

Each camp will cost £560 per participant.

Summer Camps 2024

For Summer 2024 our programme will offer two weeklong camps back-to-back from 28 July – 9 August.

Our Elite Invitation Camp is aimed at those players who are aspiring to play at the highest level and continue playing at University whereas our Open Camp is an inclusive opportunity open to players of all skill levels.

Age 14 – 18 | Scottish Hockey Academy level – Aspiring/Emerging, District or County standard, Junior International | Maximum 60

Due to popularity and demand we have increased the age of this camp to 18.

Aimed at those players who are aspiring to play at the highest level and continue playing at University. This camp will provide players with high level coaching but also provide participants to develop individually on and off the pitch through social and team building activities.

Alongside hockey training the participants will experience sessions from specialist staff in performance analysis, fitness testing and strength and conditioning.

Players can apply to this by completing the form below. They will be invited based on previous camps and experience. (Scottish Hockey Academy level – Aspiring/Emerging, County standard, Junior International; maximum 60).

Invites to this camp will be made based on strength of player based on the application, players may be offered a space on the Open camp.

The cost of this camp is £560.

The Open Camp is an inclusive opportunity open to players of all skill levels. This camp emphasises technical proficiency and engaging small-sided games for a well-rounded hockey experience.

If you know others who might be interested in taking part, then please feel free to forward on the link to those as I expect the camp to fill up early based on previous numbers. I will be aiming to have the booking site and information out in January but will let all of those signed up know at the same time.

Accommodation

Whitehorn Hall

Accommodation for the 2024 residential camp programme will be provided in Whitehorn Hall situated at the entrance to the sports facilities at University Park.

The hall is a short 10 minute walk from the main town centre and provides single bedrooms.

The accommodation is perfectly situated for a residential sports camp and our full board residential package includes all meals throughout the week.
